It has been decided that, while the Waggle Room is a very spiffy and worthwhile idea, many of us don't have the time or brainpower to contribute to it. Therefore, the Waggle Room is no more.
I enjoyed the conversations that occured in this room during the brief time of its existence. Farewell, fellow waggles. We tried. Perhaps another time the Waggle Room will appear again. Until then- so long and thanks for all the fish.

I Am Legend
Last night I watched I Am Legend and I'm still recovering from it. It was a fantastically made movie and Will Smith did an outstanding job. He was onscreen alone for so much of the film, but he played his part so well there never anything lacking.
So I'm still trying to figure out what I thought of the whole story, but I'm eager to hear from anyone out there who watched it and either loved it, hated it, or whatever.
Oh, yeah, and you should know that I think my blood pressure has almost returned to normal after that dogfight scene. Wow. Talk about an intense scene.

Unbreakable
Happy April, everyone! I apologize for getting this month's movie announcement out late. It is entirely my fault. Though, if I'd sent it out on the 1st like I would have wanted to you all would have thought I was joking.
The movie for this month is Unbreakable, another M. Night movie. This time it's M. Night's take on the super hero genre. I enjoy this movie for a multitude of reasons, but I picked it because it makes a great statement about finding and pursuing one's calling, something I've been mulling on recently. I hope you enjoy the movie and that you talk about it in the comments here. Nudge nudge, wink wink.

Gattaca
The movie I chose for the month of March is Gattaca. I will admit to having a slight ulterior motive in choosing this movie--I'd really like to watch it again because I don't remember it that clearly. :-) That said, I recall it had some interesting themes on faith and science, set against the background of genetic manipulation. Rather than try to further pique your interest in it, I will merely say that I remember it as being a fine movie, and refer you here for more details.
Since I'm vague in the details this is your chance to catch me in an error about the movie I'm recommending; so be sure to watch Gattaca some time this month and come tell us how I was all wrong about it. :-)

Pan's Labyrinth
Well, the Signs discussion seems to have pretty much wrapped up, but I don't want to start a new discussion before the end of the month in case there are any late-in-the-month stragglers. So as sort of a side discussion we are going to watch and discuss Pan's Labyrinth which is a very beautiful, very harsh movie. If you'd like to participate in this discussion please jump on in.

Signs
The movie I chose for the month of February is Signs. I am a fan of M Night Shyamalan's work. He is, in my opinion, a master storyteller. Signs is technically an alien movie, but honestly, the aliens are almost a side thought that helps to facilitate a great story about one small American family. It's a story about grief, family, forgiveness and God's providence.
Watch Signs sometime during February and be sure to tell us what you thought of it.

Welcome!
Welcome to the Waggle Room! Once a month we will pick a movie to watch and discuss. We will announce the movie on the first of every month (or sometime around then) and then you all can watch the movie at your leisure sometime during the month. Post your thoughts, comments, complaints, etc. about the movie and read what others thought of it.
We are looking forward to having some interesting conversations here as we discuss the art of movies and what they tell us about our world and our Creator.
Sincerely,
The Big Wig Waggles
